Sales of "The Makudake* Diet " Reach 1.5 Million
"The Makudake Diet: Lose Weight Using Just a Band," published by Gentosha in June 2009, hit 1.5 million copies on February 8 after its second printing.
After a first printing of 15,000, sales rose steadily as a result of the Makudake diet method being introduced on a number of television programs. On February 8, the total number of copies sold. including the second printing. reached 1,502,000 copies.
*"just by wrapping:" the dieter wraps a band around the part of the body where weight loss is desired.
