The Book of Revenge : Tokyo condemns book as unwholesome
"The Book of Revenge," a title published by SansaiBooks on December 1st, was recently designated as an unwholesome book by the Tokyo metropolitan government.
After its first-edition publication of 2,500 copies, the book has seen a reprint run of 2,500 copies.
The company has decided to shrink the number of copies to be released from the third impression onwards.
It is rare for a book to be designated as unwholesome by the Tokyo metropolitan government. The clause that formed the grounds for the designation reads "causing suicide, crime" and was introduced in 2001 in response to the publication of "The Complete Suicide Manual" (OHTA PUBLISHING). However, this book, which had given rise to the clause, was not designated as unwholesome.
