With Corporation: Picture Books with Sounds Positively Received
The publisher Wiz Corporation is attracting attention for the design and production of "talking picture books" and "karaoke picture books," children's books which make use of sound and light.
Wiz Corporation was established in 1976. In cooperation with a Taiwanese manufacturer, they sold components for semi-conductors used in electronic equipment.
In 1992 Wiz Corp. moved into the publishing field, with its mainstay product being a series of picture books which synthesized sounds with recording and replay functions, creating a number of hits with customers.
In addition to picture books, the company deals in approximately 150 products including toys, stuffed animals, mugs, cards, timer watches, and DVD's. They have also developed "Talking Pop" and other products for major food manufacturers such as Itôen and Ajinomoto. Their customers include Poplar Publishing and Sekai Bunka Publishing, among others.
