Editorial Review
Out in the fiercely competitive business world, there are many business owners who are struggling with financial difficulties. At one point, the author of this book, Zentaro Ohashi, was one of them. He started an Internet marketing firm, "Gazooba," in Silicon Valley in 1999. But soon he experienced difficulty in finding enough clients and found himself "in financial difficulty."
That's when he decided to hire an American management coach to save his company. Implementing methods for high-performance meetings brought dramatic improvement to Ohashi's company. In 2001 he sold Gazooba and started teaching the high-performance meeting methods he learned in America to Japanese companies.
The content of a high-performance meeting is very logical and straightforward. It attempts to streamline typical Japanese management meetings which can often be diffuse.
That this kind of miraculous American "turnaround business success story" sells well is rather ironic, because it reflects the reality that thousands of small companies are struggling to survive at the bottom of the IT industry. The book also makes us realize that starting one's own business is no picnic.
