About the Author

Akiko Sugahara obtained a Ph.D. in epidemiology from Tokyo University Medical School in 1976. She established the Sugahara Institute Inc. in 1984 to research nutrition that could integrate Oriental and Occidental medical perspectives.
Council member of Japanese Medical Health Association. Advisor for the Ayurvedic Medical Society in Japan. Member of the promotional committee for the agriculture of environmental conservation for the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Representative and annual event organizer for the Women in Science Forum.
She has written numerous books, including: "The Secret of Negative Ions", "Nutrition Composition Table 2003", "The Coming of the Virus Age", "The Secret of Dark-Colored Foods", and "Improving Your Life with Negative Ions."
