About the Author
Akiko Sugahara obtained a Ph.D. in epidemiology from Tokyo University Medical School in 1976. She established the Sugahara Institute Inc. in 1984 to research nutrition that could integrate Oriental and Occidental medical perspectives.
Council member of Japanese Medical Health Association. Advisor for the Ayurvedic Medical Society in Japan. Member of the promotional committee for the agriculture of environmental conservation for the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
